Farhad Samji is a multifaceted Indian creative professional, making significant contributions to the Hindi film industry as a screenwriter, director, and lyricist.
He began his career in the entertainment industry in 2002, partnering with his brother Sajid Samji to write lyrics for the film Hum Kisi Se Kum Nahin. The duo went on to work on numerous projects, including the songs "Khuda Se Mannat" from Keerthi Chakra (2006) and the title track from Bol Bachchan (2012). Their collaboration was facilitated by Salman Khan, who recommended them to director David Dhawan.
In addition to their work as lyricists, Farhad and Sajid also wrote dialogues for several films, including Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. (2003),Shiva (2006),Golmaal Returns (2008),Golmaal 3 (2010),Ready (2011),and Bol Bachchan (2012).
The duo's directorial debut was It's Entertainment (2014),and they went on to write the screenplay for films like Chennai Express (2013),Dilwale (2015),and Simmba (2018). Farhad has also worked on solo projects as a director, including Baby Come Naa (2018) and Housefull 4 (2019).
As a screenwriter, Farhad has written scripts for a range of films, including Singham (2019),Baaghi 3 (2020),Street Dancer 3D (2020),Coolie No. 1 (2020),Laxmii (2020),Sooryavanshi (2021),Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022),and Bachchhan Paandey (2022),which he also directed.
Farhad's most recent directorial venture is Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan (2023),a remake of the Tamil film Veeram (2014). He has received a nomination for the Producers Guild Film Awards for his work on Singham (2019).
