Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Mitchell graduated from the University Miami of, where he was a distinguished member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. He also had a notable stint as a student-athlete, joining the National Champion Hurricanes football team as a walk-on player.
Mitchell's impressive career in the entertainment industry began with his role in HBO's comedy series Brothers In Atlanta, which premiered in March 2015 and was later picked up to series. The show was executive produced by the renowned Lorne Michaels and directed by Tim Story.
In addition to his work on Brothers In Atlanta, Mitchell also appeared in the Showtime Network's comedy pilot Roadies, which was developed by Cameron Crowe and producer JJ Abrams. The show hit the road in February 2015, featuring a talented cast and crew.
As a supporter of the men and women in the armed forces, Mitchell recently appeared in Ron White's Comedy Salute to the Troops, a live event recorded in Las Vegas for airing on Country Music Television (CMT) on June 12, 2015. The event benefited the Armed Forces Foundation, with all proceeds going towards supporting the troops.
Mitchell's stand-up comedy career has also seen him shine on the 2014 Shaq All-Star Comedy Jam tour. He also appeared on the SHAQ All-Star one-hour comedy special, taped in Atlanta, Georgia, which aired on Showtime.
In addition to his work on SNL/Saturday Night Live, Mitchell's previous credits include Disney's A.N.T. Farm and BET/Centric's According To Him & Her. He has also made numerous appearances on various TV shows, including NBC's Today show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, The Arsenio Hall Show, B.E.T Comic View, Tyra, and many more.
