Biography

Ferdinando Buscaglione, affectionately referred to by his friends and family as Fred, was a Turin-born virtuoso musician who had been showcasing his remarkable musical talents since a very young age. As a teenager, he had spent countless hours honing his skills by performing in various nightclubs throughout the city, demonstrating an incredible proficiency in playing a wide range of instruments. However, the onset of World War II brought a temporary halt to his musical career, prompting him to join the Allied Radio Orchestra, which was stationed on the beautiful island of Sardinia. During his time with the orchestra, he had the opportunity to refine his skills by learning to play and sing modern American-style "swing" music, further expanding his musical repertoire and versatility.
