Gabriel Carrer is a multifaceted film director and screenwriter who has made a significant impact in the horror genre. His debut film, If a Tree Falls, was released in 2010 and premiered at the renowned Fantasia International Film Festival, garnering widespread attention and critical acclaim.
After a successful run with his first film, Carrer returned to Fantasia in 2015 with his sophomore effort, The Demolisher. This film won the Silver Audience Award at the festival and went on to receive accolades at various international film festivals, including the Vancouver International Film Festival, Sitges, Hardline, and Toronto After Dark Film & Feratum.
In 2021, Carrer ventured into music composition and co-directed the Shudder streaming exclusive film, For the Sake of Vicious, which was released by Epic Pictures. The film premiered at Fantasia, marking Carrer's third appearance at the festival, and continued to play at a series of notable horror film festivals, including Frightfest, Macabro, Hardline, Telluride Horror Show, Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, and Sitges.
In addition to his work in film direction, Carrer has also explored other creative outlets, including the 2012 film In the House of Flies, which features punk rock icon Henry Rollins as "The Voice".
