Biography

Gene Raser Kearney, a native of New York City, embarked on his educational journey at the prestigious Berkshire private high school in Massachusetts, laying the groundwork for his future endeavors.

Subsequently, Kearney served his country with honor in the Korean War, his time in the Air Force undoubtedly shaping his perspective and fortifying his character.

Upon his return, Kearney enrolled at Harvard University, where he excelled academically, graduating with honors. During his time at Harvard, he honed his writing skills by working for the renowned student-run newspaper, The Harvard Crimson.

Kearney's early career was marked by a passion for storytelling, as he transitioned into the world of radio, documentary, and commercial film production. His talents soon took him to California in the early 1960s, where he continued to make a name for himself in the entertainment industry.

As a multifaceted professional, Kearney's career spanned various roles, including writer, director, producer, and actor, with credits in numerous television programs and motion pictures. His long-standing association with Universal Studios was a highlight of his career, as he wrote one of the first made-for-television movies, "How I Spent My Summer Vacation," and contributed to several theatrical features.

Kearney's expertise also extended to television series production, with notable credits including "Kojak," "Night Gallery," and "Switch." Tragically, his life was cut short at the age of 49 due to cancer, passing away on November 4, 1979, in Los Angeles.
