Biography

Gennadi Vengerov, a Belarusian-born Russian actor of considerable acclaim, came into the world on August 27, 1959, in the historic city of Vitebsk, Belarus. Following the completion of his formal education at the prestigious Technical School for Architecture and Construction, he initially pursued a career in the field of construction engineering, working briefly in this capacity before making the transition to the creative sphere as an announcer for the esteemed Vitebsk Regional Radio.

As his passion for the performing arts continued to evolve, Vengerov made the bold decision to transition from his initial pursuits into the world of acting, where he would soon make a name for himself on the stages of the People's Theater in Vitebsk.

It wasn't long before his impressive talent and dedication caught the attention of the esteemed Yakub Kolas Belarus National Academic Drama Theater, who extended an invitation for him to join their ranks in 1980.

Prior to his tenure at the theater, Vengerov had served his country with distinction in the Soviet Army, where he had the opportunity to develop important life skills and gain valuable experience.

Upon completing his military service, Vengerov enrolled in the School-Studio at the Moscow Art Theater, where he had the privilege of studying under the guidance of renowned professors Viktor Monyukov and Vladimir Bogomolov.
