His extraordinary journey began in the vibrant year of 1985 at the prestigious Red Apple Studios in the iconic city of New York, where he worked as an assistant music engineer alongside the illustrious Larry Harlow, a legendary figure in the renowned La Fania all stars, leaving an indelible mark on the music industry and beyond.
In the subsequent calendar year, Lara embarked on a new professional journey by joining the esteemed Sound One Studios, a prominent post-production facility situated in the bustling metropolis of New York City, where he initially assumed the roles of Projectionist and Transfers Engineer.
For the span of 14 years, Lara dedicated himself to refining his expertise, engaging in a series of collaborative projects with an impressive array of renowned Re-Recording mixers and Sound editors, each one serving as a valuable learning experience that contributed to his growth as a professional.
As the new millennium dawned, Lara felt an insatiable creative urge to embark on a new and exciting venture, one that would allow him to push the boundaries of his craft and explore new horizons. It was during this time that he joined forces with his present partner, the talented Marko Costanzo, to establish a cutting-edge Foley Studio facility at C5, Inc., an endeavour that would ultimately yield the largest and most advanced facility of its kind on the East coast.
For the past quarter of a century, Lara's career has been marked by an extraordinary odyssey, replete with the privilege of collaborating with innovative and forward-thinking Directors and Sound Supervisors, editors, and other esteemed industry professionals. This extensive tenure has resulted in his impressive presence in over six hundred motion pictures, documentaries, television shows, video games, and commercials, garnering him widespread recognition and accolades, including a staggering eighteen nominations and four triumphant wins.
Throughout his illustrious career, many of the projects he has had the pleasure of contributing to have been honored with prestigious award nominations and wins, including the coveted OSCAR, BAFTA, EMMY, CAS, and MPSE awards, solidifying his reputation as a master of his craft.
Lara's professional endeavors on two prominent television series, "Boardwalk Empire" and "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel," have been characterized by outstanding achievements, garnering him numerous prestigious accolades and ultimately yielding a profound sense of fulfillment.
