Personal Details

Biography

George's origin story begins in Houston, Texas during the 1980s and 1990s, where he developed musical powers as a result of a childhood heavily influenced by Saturday morning cartoons, superhero comics, movies about aliens, monsters, mutants, time travel, action heroes, and Jedi. The iconic melodies of John Williams, Alan Menken, and Alan Silvestri, combined with a vivid imagination, inspired his early forays into composing tunes for storytelling purposes.

Recently, George scored Abominable And The Invisible City from DreamWorks Animation and Riot Games' 2023 Lunar Revel cinematic, further solidifying his impressive range of work, which includes 20 feature films, such as Baby Steps, produced by Oscar-nominated Li-Kong Hsu, the producer of Ang Lee's Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, the animated feature Little Sorcerer, and the Slamdance-winning documentary The Kidnapping Of Ingrid Betancourt.

George has also collaborated with Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee to pen the song "Ode to Geeks," celebrating Lee's Lifetime Achievement Award at the inaugural Geekie Awards, which George music directed from 2013 to 2015. Additionally, he scored YouTube Original's longest-running show Escape The Night, Wil Wheaton's Tabletop for Geek & Sundry, and created the viral hit Star Wars Musical.

George studied composition and film scoring at the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music, where he honed his skills and developed a passion for orchestral conducting. He studied conducting at the BMI Conducting Workshop and the Los Angeles Film Conducting Intensive, and has been mentored by renowned composers Christophe Beck and Christopher Lennertz.

George was selected to the Universal Composers Initiative in 2018, the first Hollywood studio program designed to nurture diverse voices in composing. He has also been included in mentorship programs with Universal Film Music and DreamWorks Animation executives. As an advocate for diversity in composing, George actively works with the Composers Diversity Collective Executive Committee to promote this important cause.

In his free time, George enjoys playing the clarinet, piano, guitar, and has even taken up Chinese woodwind instruments after studying Chinese music. He resides in Los Angeles, where he survived the pandemic by composing for animation, developing musicals, and training to become a Jedi Master at Beat Saber. George's plans for world domination include earning an EGOT, becoming more famous than Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw, and perfecting time travel.
