George T. Nierenberg is a renowned filmmaker, whose impressive body of work has left an indelible mark on the world of documentary cinema. One of his most notable achievements is the critically acclaimed film "No Maps on My Taps" (1979),a groundbreaking exploration of the world of tap dancing.

Nierenberg's subsequent work, "Say Amen, Somebody" (1982),further cemented his reputation as a master of documentary storytelling, as he delved into the lives of two gospel music legends, Thomas A. Dorsey and Mahalia Jackson.

In addition to these two notable films, Nierenberg also directed "Gotta Dance!" (1995),a captivating exploration of the world of ballroom dancing.
