As he embarked on his artistic odyssey, he enrolled in the prestigious École des Beaux-Arts et des Arts Décoratifs in Geneva, where he would spend the next five years honing his craft from 1960 to 1965.
Subsequently, in the year 1971, Schwizgebel embarked on a new entrepreneurial venture, establishing the renowned Studio GDS, which would serve as a creative hub for his multifaceted talents. Within this studio, he not only demonstrated his expertise as a producer and director of animated films, but also explored the realm of graphic design, showcasing his versatility and innovative spirit.

In recent years, a notable short film, Romance, was created in collaboration between the esteemed National Film Board of Canada and two renowned Swiss studios. This joint endeavour was met with widespread acclaim, earning its place among the five animated shorts nominated for the prestigious 32nd Genie Awards.
