Giles was born in Harrogate, Yorkshire, UK. He is an award-winning filmmaker who has directed feature films such as 'The Dare', 'The Stranger in our Bed', 'Wolves of War', 'Arthur & Merlin', and 'World of Darkness'. He has also produced several films, including 'Three Day Millionaire', 'Repeat', 'A Serial Killer's Guide to Life', 'Followers', 'Dirty Boy', and 'All Town Aren't We', and is currently in production on 'Food For Thought'.
Giles is the founder of Figi Productions, where he has produced and directed eight award-winning films, including 'The Heart of the Forest', '47 Cleveland', 'Taken', 'Barry Brown', and the first 3D short drama to be filmed in the UK, 'Sportsday 3D'. He is now the Head of Production at Shush Films.
His thriller feature 'The Stranger in our Bed' won the Nation Film Awards Best Film Award in 2023, and his psychological horror feature 'The Dare' won the Audience Award at Popcorn Frights Film Festival. 'The Dare' is available on Sky Movies, Prime, and Netflix, where it reached the top 3.
Giles has also worked in television, appearing in shows such as 'Blackpool', 'Coronation Street', 'The Great War', 'Tricks', '50 Ways', 'The Silence', and 'Accidental Farmer'. He is a member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (Bafta) and sits on the panel for the British Independent Film Awards (BIFA).
In addition to his work in film and television, Giles is a playwright and has had several of his plays performed at Off West End theaters. He is also a member of the Soho Theater and the Royal Court Theaters Young Writers program, where he has had three of his plays read and two fully performed.
Giles is a football enthusiast and plays for Arsenal ex pros and Celebrities Charity XI. He was the top goal-scorer in 2018 and 2019.
