Glenn McQuaid, a talented writer-director, was born and raised in North County Dublin, Ireland, where he developed a strong foundation for his future endeavors. Prior to entering the film industry, McQuaid worked as a visual effects artist and art director in the advertising world, honing his skills in both creative and technical aspects.
His initial foray into cinema came when he collaborated with Ti West on the visual effects for The Roost and with Larry Fessenden on The Last Winter. This experience laid the groundwork for his feature film debut, the period horror-comedy I Sell the Dead, which received a successful festival release and garnered praise from both critics and audiences alike.
In 2011, McQuaid co-curated and produced the highly acclaimed audio genre series Tales from Beyond the Pale alongside Larry Fessenden. He also directed the short film Martin, a character prequel for Jim Mickle's Stake Land, and co-directed the feature film V/H/S, which premiered at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival.
In addition to his work in film, McQuaid is also a skilled title designer, having designed credits for a range of films including The Innkeepers, Hellbenders, Hypothermia, and Angel of Death.
