Gregor von Rezzori, a celebrated thespian and literary luminary, entered this world on May 13, 1914, in the enchanting city of Czernowitz, a municipality that was then an integral part of the vast and storied empire of Austria-Hungary, but is now affectionately known as Chernivtsi, Ukraine, a country rich in history and culture. This extraordinary individual left an indelible and lasting impact on the world of entertainment, captivating audiences with his memorable performances in a wide range of notable films, including the critically acclaimed Unter den Sternen von Capri, released in 1953, the thought-provoking Der liebe Augustin, which premiered in 1960, and the action-packed Kopfjäger von Borneo, which debuted in 1936. Throughout his remarkable life, von Rezzori was blessed with the love and companionship of three devoted wives: the accomplished Beatrice Monti della Corte, the elegant Priska von Tiedemann, and the charming Hanna Axmann.
