Gregory Terlecki is a man of diverse heritage, boasting Ukrainian, Greek, and Scottish roots. Born on the Maine and New Brunswick border, he grew up in a picturesque setting with a covered bridge, waterfalls, and a one-room schoolhouse in the backyard. His childhood was filled with the sounds of his grandfather's covered bridge and the beauty of the surrounding landscape.
Gregory's love for photography was instilled in him by his father, a World War II photographer who captured images of Italy's Emperor Victor Emmanuel and actor John Candy and his family in the 1940s and 1950s. This passion for documenting life through the camera was passed down to Gregory when he was just twelve years old.
Gregory graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design University with a degree in fine arts, film, and photography. He spent several years traveling the world, documenting the beautiful and unusual, and even modeled for a series of print ads for the Videotron cable TV company.
In addition to his work in film and photography, Gregory is a music minister and tenor, singing in French, English, and Latin. He has also written several books, including a hardcover photo history and bio book about his birthplace, "The Lost World of River de Chute," which is now part of the National Library of Canada.
Gregory's great-uncle Percy W. Bishop was a prominent figure in Canadian history, writing books on nationalism and being one of the first "Thinking Speculators" on the petroleum business. He owned 60,000 acres of oil and gas property in Cold Lake, Alberta, and entertained future Prime Minister Jean Chretien at his Mississauga, Ontario estate.
Gregory's script "Going Beyond Violet" won a finalist award at Larry Brody's TVwriter.com, and he has also won awards for his other scripts, including "The Devil's Tail," which has charmed film festival juries and audiences around the world. Gregory is currently working on super short scripts for his fantasy series, "Dream Files."
