Guido Freddi, a multifaceted individual, was born on November 23, 1965, in Rome, Italy. With a strong academic background, he graduated summa cum laude in Anthropology from LaSapienza University of Rome.
As a testament to his adventurous spirit, Guido served as a 2nd lieutenant assault platoon commander in the Italian Army. He then went on to conduct field research and create documentaries in various exotic locations, including French Polynesia, Turkey, Ecuador, Burkina Faso, India, Nepal, and Libya.

Guido's life took a new turn when he moved to New York City with his wife, writer and director Ilaria Borrelli, whom he married in Paris, France, in 1996. Together, they founded Capetoste production company and composed the score for Guido's first feature film, which was performed by a full orchestra.
During his six-year stint in NYC, Guido also had his own jazz trio from 2000 to 2003. Tragedy struck again when he was in downtown Manhattan on the morning of September 11, 2001.
