Biography

Guillaume Giovanetti was born in Lyon, France, in 1978.

As a directorial duo alongside Çagla Zencirci, they operate from a dual base in Paris and Istanbul, and have directed numerous short films across the Middle East, Europe, Central Asia, and the Far-East, including the notable titles Ata, France/Turkey 2008 and Six, Japan/France 2009. These films have been selected in over 200 international film festivals worldwide, such as the Berlinale, Locarno, Rotterdam, Tampere, FIDMarseille, Clermont-Ferrand, and many others.

The co-directors achieved their first feature film, Noor, in 2012, which was a collaborative effort between France, Turkey, and Pakistan. The film was developed in France's Moulin d'Andé and shot on location in Pakistan, thanks to the support of the MEDIA Program. Noor premiered at the ACID section of the 65th Cannes International Film Festival in 2012 and went on to compete in the 47th Karlovy Vary Film Festival, being selected for the Busan IFF and garnering numerous accolades, including Grand Prix awards at the Paris' "Chéries-Chéris" Festival, Dieppe, France, New York Asian Film Festival, Bogota, Colombia, and Mississauga, Canada, as well as numerous other awards in Rome, Milan, Vancouver, Dublin, and Toulouse.

Following more than 80 festival invitations, Noor was theatrically released in France in April 2014, receiving widespread critical acclaim and audience approval.
