Hammy Dimaria was born on August 16, 1972, in Marseille, France, to a family of Algerian origin. Growing up in the southern districts of Marseille, he began a career as a French boxer before a combat accident during training forced him to redirect his passion.
Hammy discovered his love for writing and poetry, which led him to launch and host a show on a Marseille radio station, earning him the nickname "The Gentleman". This experience laid the foundation for his future career in the entertainment industry.
In 1998, Hammy moved to Paris and created and hosted the show "Un Monde Perfect" on France Maghreb radio, blending humor and current affairs. He then transitioned to stand-up comedy, premiering his first show "Où Est-Ce Qu’on Signe?" at various open stages in Paris, including the Théâtre du Trévise, the Théâtre de Dix Heures, and Jamel Debbouze's Comedy Club.
Hammy's stand-up career flourished, with collaborations with other comedians, including Alban Ivanov, Younes and Bambi, and Rajdi El Subliminal. He also co-wrote Alban Ivanov's first show "Alban Et Les Autres" and featured in the television show Jamel Comedy Club in May 2017, broadcast on Canal +.
In addition to his stand-up work, Hammy has also ventured into filmmaking, co-writing and starring in the series "2 min Avant Le Ftour" in 2014. He founded the Court Métrage Politique festival in La Courneuve in 2009, which gained media attention and success.
Hammy has continued to act in various films and television series, including the drama series "Le Carré" in 2020 and the thriller series "Or Noir" in 2022. He has also adapted his show "Restons Gentleman" into English and performed in Los Angeles at the Laugh Factory, the Flappers Comedy Club, and the Comedy Store in 2022.
Currently, Hammy is writing his first feature film, which combines humor and social issues, and is preparing an expanded version of his show "Restons Gentleman", which was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
