Ævar Örn Jóhannsson, the eldest of three brothers, was born in the charming town of Bolungarvík, a picturesque location nestled within the dramatic Wild West fjords of Iceland. At the tender age of 16, he left his hometown to embark on a journey to pursue his passion for languages at a renowned boarding school in Laugarvatn, Iceland. During his time at the school, he not only diligently honed his language skills, which comprised a diverse range of languages including French, Deutsch, Danish, Icelandic, and Esperanto, but also demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities by assuming the role of head of all sport activities for the school, thereby earning him a prominent position on the student council.
Jóhannsson, a highly accomplished individual, proudly held a diploma in languages, accompanied by a special commendation for his exceptional proficiency in the German language, Deutsch. Following his academic achievements, he embarked on an extraordinary journey to Costa Rica, a country nestled in the heart of Central America, with the primary goal of submerging himself in the rich and vibrant Spanish language.
