Henri Lucien Raymond Vidal, a renowned French film actor, was born on November 26, 1919. His remarkable journey in the film industry began after he won the prestigious "Apollo of 1939" contest in Paris, catching the attention of the legendary Édith Piaf. This chance encounter led to his film debut alongside Piaf in the 1941 movie Montmartre-sur-Seine.
Throughout his illustrious career, Vidal appeared in over 30 films between 1941 and 1959, sharing the screen with some of the most iconic leading ladies of French cinema in the 1950s, including Françoise Arnoul, Brigitte Bardot, Dany Carrel, Mylène Demongeot, Sophia Loren, Romy Schneider, and Marina Vlady.
Vidal's personal life was marked by two marriages. He first tied the knot with actress Michèle Cordoba in May 1943, only to divorce her in July 1946. In 1950, he married the beautiful French actress Michèle Morgan, whom he met while filming Alessandro Blasetti's 1949 film Fabiola.
Sadly, Henri Vidal's life was cut short when he passed away on December 10, 1959, due to a heart attack. He was laid to rest in Pontgibaud, Puy-de-Dôme départment.
