Henry Ewan Golding, a renowned British-Malaysian television host, actor, and model, was born in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, to Margaret Likan, a Malaysian mother from the Iban people, and Clive Golding, an English father. His mother, a member of the Indigenous Iban group, played a significant role in his upbringing, and Henry even completed the bejalai, a traditional Iban rite of passage, in the jungles of Borneo.
Henry's early years were spent in Terengganu, Malaysia, before his family relocated to Surrey, England when he was just eight years old. Twenty-one years later, he returned to Malaysia, settling in Kuala Lumpur, where he pursued his passion for acting and gained recognition as a host of travel shows.
Henry's breakthrough in the film industry came with his feature film debut in the highly acclaimed Crazy Rich Asians (2018),where he played the role of Nick Young, a Singaporean multi-millionaire navigating a relationship with an American woman, Rachel Chu (Constance Wu). Later that year, he starred alongside Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick in the thriller A Simple Favor (2018). Since his 2018 success, Henry has continued to impress audiences with his performances in the romantic comedy Last Christmas (2019),opposite Emilia Clarke, and the comedy-thriller The Gentlemen (2019). He will also be seen playing the title character in the action film Snake Eyes (2021).
In his personal life, Henry is married to Liv Lo, an Italian-Taiwanese TV presenter and yoga instructor, whom he wed in August 2016.
