Ilka Zafirova's existence commenced on April 8, 1941, in the vibrant city of Sofia, Bulgaria, a place where she would subsequently cultivate her artistic skills at the prestigious National Academy for Theatre and Film Art, graduating in 1966 under the erudite guidance of the esteemed Professor Moise Beniesh, a renowned educator in his field.

As fate would have it, the same year she earned her degree, Ilka Zafirova joined the illustrious Drama Theatre in Veliko Tarnovo, thus inaugurating a remarkable career that would span many years and bring her widespread recognition.
