Ilse Ever, professionally known as Ita Ever, was a renowned Estonian actress, born on April 1, 1931, and passed away on August 9, 2023. Dubbed the Grand Old Lady of Estonian theatre, she left an indelible mark on the industry.

Ita Ever's illustrious career commenced in 1953 as a stage actress, with numerous film and television appearances to her credit. Her personal life was marked by a marriage to the esteemed Estonian actor Eino Baskin, with whom she had a son, Roman Baskin, who would go on to become a successful director and actor.

In 1983, Ever took on the iconic role of Miss Marple in the Russian film adaptation of Agatha Christie's novel, A Pocket Full of Rye, titled Secret of the Blackbirds.
