Jack Fisk, a highly respected and accomplished American production designer and director, came into the world on December 19, 1945. As a production designer, he has garnered widespread recognition and acclaim for his collaborative work with the renowned filmmaker Terrence Malick, having designed the sets for all of Malick's first eight feature films. These films include the critically acclaimed and highly influential titles such as Badlands, released in 1973, Days of Heaven, which premiered in 1978, The Thin Red Line, which was released in 1998, and The Tree of Life, which premiered in 2011. Fisk's impressive and diverse filmography also boasts a wide range of other notable credits, including Phantom of the Paradise, a 1974 cult classic, Carrie, a 1976 horror film, Eraserhead, a 1977 surrealist body horror film, Heart Beat, a 1980 drama film, The Straight Story, a 1999 drama film, Mulholland Drive, a 2001 neo-noir mystery film, Water for Elephants, a 2011 romantic drama film, and The Master, a 2012 psychological drama film.
