Biography

James Hunter embarked on a filmmaking odyssey that would span decades, with its earliest roots tracing back to a tender age of 13 in the year 1990. It was during this pivotal moment that he conceptualized and brought to life a cinematic masterpiece, a "Star Wars" film, utilizing an array of innovative techniques, including action figures, blue screen, and special effects.

James embarked on an extraordinary creative endeavor at the tender age of 14, scripting the screenplay for the ambitious project, "Robin Hood: Prince of Sherwood". With the invaluable guidance and support of his father and close friends, he took on the challenging role of producer, overseeing the production of his debut feature film, which was captured on 16mm film.

The project, which spanned an impressive three years, culminated in a grand premiere at the local town theater in January 1994. The event drew an impressive crowd of approximately 3,000 people over the course of two days, a testament to James' hard work and dedication to his craft.

James, a self-taught individual, acquired the skills to operate and utilize a 16mm film camera, simultaneously learning the art of film editing, abilities that would prove invaluable in his future endeavors.

James tied the knot in the year 1997, subsequently relocating to the City of Angels, where he embarked on a journey of self-enrichment by enrolling at Los Angeles City College, immersing himself in a curriculum that spanned the realms of film, theater, and philosophy.

Throughout this period, he diligently worked to make ends meet, taking on a diverse array of occupations, including stints at the iconic Virgin Mega Store, where he likely developed a keen ear for music and a knack for navigating the ever-changing landscape of the entertainment industry.

He also spent time serving tables at Hamburger Hamlet, a restaurant that, at the time, was a staple of the Los Angeles dining scene, allowing him to hone his communication skills and develop a keen sense of customer service.

In addition, James's experiences as an extra on film sets provided him with a unique behind-the-scenes perspective on the world of cinema, affording him the opportunity to observe and learn from industry professionals, while also gaining valuable insight into the inner workings of the film production process.

These early experiences not only helped James develop a strong work ethic, but also instilled in him a deep appreciation for the arts, as well as a keen understanding of the importance of perseverance and dedication in achieving one's goals.

James' plans to pursue a career in film direction were put on hold due to the rapid advancements of the Digital Revolution and the Hollywood industry's reluctance to give opportunities to young directors, ultimately prompting him to shift his focus towards acting. At the tender age of 20, he successfully secured membership to the esteemed Screen Actors Guild, marking the beginning of his acting career.

For several years, James' teenage films remained in storage, collecting dust and awaiting their chance to shine. It wasn't until 2008 that he partnered with Ryan Sims to bring his creations to the masses, distributing them through the innovative platforms of Indieflix and Amazon.com. The films finally saw the light of day, and in April 2013, James took the bold step of uploading them to the ever-growing YouTube community, making them accessible to a global audience.

James's third film, "Vagabond Lover", embarked on its production journey in the year 1999, only to face a sudden and unfortunate halt due to a severe lack of funding. Two decades later, James revisited the project, meticulously rewriting scenes and introducing fresh characters to breathe new life into the narrative.

As of the current year, namely 2023, James has been industriously engaged in the development and production of multiple novel projects, encompassing a diverse range of genres, including the thrilling and suspenseful realm of horror films, a sequel to his initial and highly acclaimed cinematic adaptation of the legendary tale of Robin Hood, as well as a motion picture inspired by the remarkable and poignant true story of his late aunt, Mary Faye Hunter, whose tragic and untimely demise occurred in the year 1967.
