James Pax, a man of many talents and passions, began his journey at a young age. Classically trained in piano at 8 years old, he was later inspired by Bruce Lee's martial arts and Kung Fu training during his teenage years. As he grew older, James picked up the guitar and started writing songs, performing in high school music events and eventually becoming a street singer in Rome, Italy.
His love for dance led him to train with the famous Russian ballet dancer, Nureyev, at the age of 17. He later attended jazz classes with Broadway show choreographer JoJo Smith, becoming the first Asian male dancer in TV shows and music videos.
James's semiprofessional singing career took off when he visited Santiago, Chile, where he mesmerized 3,000 Chilean ladies with his performance on the local TV show "Mr. Chile." This experience planted a seed in his mind to become an entertainer and actor.
After graduating from New York University with a degree in finance and marketing, James worked for EF Hutton stock brokerage house on Wall Street before pursuing his family's stock brokerage business in Hong Kong.
James's acting career in Hong Kong and China spanned multiple decades, with notable roles in films such as "The Heroic Trio," "Love Among the Triad," and "Shanghai Fever." He also produced and directed the TV show "L.A. What's Happening?" and became the first Asian producer to appear on the Red Carpet at the Chinese Mann's Theater.
In 2006, James produced and starred in the docu-drama "The First Emperor" for Discovery USA and Channel 4 UK, which received an 18% rating and was later sold to global TV stations.
James has continued to evolve in his career, becoming an ice-skating producer and director, and an adroit script writer. He has also written a book, "A Bowl of Fish," and is set to direct and produce several upcoming projects, including "Pirate Warriors of South China Sea" and "Kung Fu Me in the Zombie Land."
Throughout his 30-year acting and producing career, James has worked alongside notable stars such as Kurt Russell, Kim Cattrall, Charles Bronson, Chuck Norris, and Michelle Yeoh. He has also starred in numerous Japanese films and TV series, making him the first Asian-American to do so.
James's extensive career has been marked by numerous milestones, including becoming the first Chinese American celebrity model to work with Giorgio Armani and the first Asian model/actor to do cigarette campaigns for West Cigarette and Philip Morris.
As he looks to the future, James is set to produce and direct several new projects, including the mini-series "Operation Freedom Nigeria" and the feature film "Kung Fu Me in the Zombie Land." He is also planning to make a comeback in Hollywood as an actor, starring in European and British movies.
