Biography

Jan Jeffcoat is a multi-talented individual with a distinguished career in television. She has made guest appearances on various shows, including NBC's "This is Us," Fox's "911," and Netflix's "What If," as well as an upcoming series on Apple TV. Additionally, she played a supporting role in the Lifetime movie "My Daughter Was Stolen."

Prior to her acting career, Jan anchored the evening and morning newscasts for WUSA9 in Washington, D.C. for five years. During her time in D.C., she covered significant news stories that made national headlines, including the 2017 Presidential Inauguration. She also served as a guest co-host on the Emmy Award-winning daytime show "The Talk" on CBS.

Before joining the CBS affiliate, Jan hosted and helped launch the national news magazine show "The List" for Scripps Networks. She was also the anchor of Good Day Chicago, which received an Associated Press Award for Best Newscast. Jan's work on a 30-minute documentary about the devastation in Haiti after the earthquake earned her a 2011 Edward R. Murrow and a 2010 Emmy Award. In 2010, she was named Young Alumnus of the Year by her alma mater, the University of Southern California.

Jan began her career in television in Houston, where she served as the morning anchor for FOX 26 Morning News. During her time in Houston, she received two Emmy nominations for Best Anchor and two Texas Associated Press awards for Best Anchor. She was also a nominee for the Star Award for Best On-Air Personality in Houston and was voted a "Top Houston Professional on the fast track" by H-Texas Magazine.

Jan's first month in Houston saw her co-anchoring breaking news coverage of a beltway plane crash that was nominated for a regional Emmy. She also anchored uninterrupted coverage of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and reported from Chicago during the 2005 World Series when the Houston Astros played the Chicago White Sox.

Before arriving in Houston, Jan was the morning and noon anchor for two successful shows at the CBS affiliate, WBTV in Charlotte, North Carolina. While in North Carolina, she hosted the pep rally for the Continental Tire Bowl and was voted "Best of Charlotte" in 2003.

Jan's television career began at the age of 12 when she hosted a children's program in her hometown. Her first reporting job was in Tallahassee, Florida. In her free time, Jan enjoys water sports and swam competitively for over a decade. She currently resides in the Los Angeles area with her husband and two daughters.
