British-born author and screenwriter, Jane West Bakerink, is a co-founder of Haylett Entertainment, LLC, a testament to her multifaceted creative talents. Her lifelong passion for writing led her to self-publish the popular children's book, The Lonesome Pine, which has garnered recognition from esteemed institutions such as the American Library Association and Easter Seals. The book's animated television special, Piney: The Lonesome Pine, is a heartwarming tale inspired by Jane's personal experiences, following the journey of a pine tree's dream to become a majestic Christmas tree. The book has also been incorporated into Renaissance Learning Inc.'s accelerated reading program, allowing students in K-12 to earn credits for reading.
In addition to her literary accomplishments, Jane has also ventured into music, penning two songs for Piney: The Lonesome Pine. Her musical talents have also been showcased in the theme songs for Fox Broadcasting's Emmy-nominated special, "Smart Kids", and the award-winning PBS special, "No Label, No Limits". Her professional affiliations include membership in the Screen Actors Guild, Broadcast Music, Inc., and ASIFA-Hollywood.
Prior to discovering her passion for writing, Jane spent her formative years as a singer, dancer, and actress, attending the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in England and performing in numerous television shows, commercials, and London's West End productions.
Today, Jane resides in Manhattan Beach, California, with her husband, and is the proud mother of two daughters and grandmother of two granddaughters. She cherishes her family time, takes long walks, and dedicates herself to making a positive impact on the lives of others.
