Jason Bortz's journey in the entertainment industry began when he started acting at the tender age of seven. By the time he was eleven, he had already penned his first play, showcasing his creative talent at a young age.
As he grew older, Jason continued to hone his craft, booking his first commercial at the age of twelve. He then attended college in Eugene, Oregon, where he further refined his skills.
After college, Jason moved to Seattle to train with the renowned John Jacobsen at "The Film School". During his time in Seattle, he became a member of the Seattle Cinema Co-Op, where he worked on both on-camera and off-camera projects in commercials and films, while also regularly performing on stage.
Jason's passion for the arts led him to train at the National Shakespeare Conservatory in New York, before eventually making his way to Los Angeles. In LA, he became a member of the Shakespeare and Friends Foundation, where he performed in "at-risk" inner city schools, introducing live theatre to audiences who had never experienced it before.
Back in his hometown, Jason co-founded the Capital Film Arts Alliance in Sacramento, and has since served as a guest screenwriting instructor for The Learning Exchange, coached acting for various organizations, and was a co-founder of Stand Out Talent, an award-winning theatre and media arts company.
Jason's impressive resume includes a number of notable achievements, including being honored with Sacramento News and Review's "Best Local Actor" award, Sacramento Film and Music Festival's "Best Documentary" award for a film shot in Africa, and A Place Called Sacramento's "Best Overall Film" award for directing the short film "Hope".
He has also received a "Best Actor" Award from the Sacramento Area Regional Theatre Alliance, and has launched the Roseville Film and Animation Festival, hosting industry professionals from companies such as Marvel and Warner Brothers.
Throughout his career, Jason has divided his time between performing, directing, writing scripts, and coaching, solidifying his reputation as a multi-talented artist in the entertainment industry.
