Brannan's breakout role came in the 2006 film Shortbus, where he not only captivated audiences with his on-screen presence but also contributed the song "Soda Shop" to the film's soundtrack. Interestingly, "Soda Shop" emerged as the highest-selling song on the soundtrack album, which was released by Bright Eyes' Team Love Records.
Following his success in Shortbus, Brannan went on to release a series of albums, each of which achieved impressive chart success. His debut album, goddamned, was produced by the accomplished Will Golden, who has worked with notable artists such as Meiko and Michelle Branch. Brannan's subsequent albums, In Living Cover and Rob Me Blind, were also met with critical acclaim.
In Living Cover, a unique project that showcases Brannan's versatility as a musician, features a mix of original compositions and cover songs. The album was recorded in a bedroom in his friend Drew Brody's Brooklyn apartment, adding an intimate touch to the music.
Rob Me Blind, Brannan's third studio album, was produced by the renowned David Kahne, who has worked with a diverse range of artists, including Regina Spektor, The Bangles, Paul McCartney, Kelly Clarkson, and Lana Del Rey, to name a few.
