J.D. Roth, a multifaceted individual, embarked on a 14-year stint as a host of various game shows, catering to both children and adults. Prior to this tenure, he showcased his talents as a contestant on the renowned program Star Search in 1983. Additionally, he made notable guest appearances on popular television shows such as The Equalizer in 1985, As the World Turns, and Charles in Charge in 1984.
Following his successful hosting stint on Fox's Fun House, which aired from 1988 to 1991, Roth founded Slam Dunk Productions, where he assumed the role of executive producer for the short-lived Double Up in 1992 and Mad Libs & Moolah Beach in 2001.
In October 2000, Roth made his debut as the host of an adult game show, Sex Wars, alongside Jennifer Cole. This venture marked a departure from his previous work in children's game shows, as he recognized that the audience he had entertained as children would also appreciate an adult-oriented program. Unfortunately, Sex Wars only lasted for a year.
