Jenna Fischer is a renowned actress, best recognized for her captivating portrayal of Pam Beesly on the critically acclaimed television show The Office. This remarkable performance earned her an Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actress and two SAG Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble Comedy.
Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Fischer spent most of her childhood in St. Louis, Missouri. Her early exposure to her mother, Anne, performing in church plays instilled in her a deep love for theater and performance. This foundation laid the groundwork for her future success as a trained theater actress.
After concluding her tenure on The Office, Fischer returned to her roots by starring in the Off-Broadway play Reasons to Be Happy, written and directed by Neil LaBute, alongside Josh Hamilton, Leslie Bibb, and Fred Weller. Her subsequent appearance in the world premiere of Steve Martin's newest play, Meteor Shower, an absurdist comedy opposite Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg, at the Old Globe Theatre, marked a record-breaking run.
In October 2019, Fischer and her real-life best friend and former The Office castmate, Angela Kinsey, launched a podcast called Office Ladies on the Earwolf platform. This podcast has achieved widespread popularity, consistently ranking in the Top Ten globally and accumulating over 200 million downloads within its first two years. In January 2021, Office Ladies won iHeart Radio's Podcast of the Year award.
Fischer is also a published author, having written two books: The Actor's Life: A Survival Guide, a memoir detailing her journey from St. Louis to Hollywood to become a working actress, and the forthcoming Office BFF's: Tales of The Office from Two Best Friends Who Were There (co-authored with Angela Kinsey),a memoir chronicling their enduring best friendship and time working on The Office.
