Jennifer Beals is a renowned actress with over 90 credits to her name, including critically acclaimed feature films and television series. She is currently executive producing and starring in the revival of her hit series THE L WORD: GENERATION Q, set to premiere in December 2019 on Showtime.
Beals received the prestigious GLAAD Golden Gate Award for her performance in THE L WORD and was nominated for two NAACP Image Awards and a Satellite Award. She was also presented with the Human Rights Campaign's Ally for Equality Award for her support of the LGBT community.
In addition to her work on THE L WORD, Beals has appeared in numerous films and television shows, including THE BOOK OF ELI, TWILIGHT OF THE GOLDS, RUNAWAY JURY, and AFTER. She has worked with acclaimed filmmakers and talent, such as Denzel Washington, Gary Oldman, and Dustin Hoffman.
On the television side, Beals has recurred in THE LAST TYCOON, receiving critical acclaim for her performance as Hollywood starlet Margo Taft. She has also starred in TAKEN, SWAMP THING, and THE CHICAGO CODE, among other notable credits.
Beals has received numerous awards and nominations for her performances, including a Golden Globe nomination and an NAACP Image Award for her role in FLASHDANCE. She has also been recognized for her work in independent films, such as IN THE SOUP and CINEMANOVELS.
In addition to her on-camera work, Beals has been named a 'C40 Goodwill Ambassador' by the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group, where she will support and amplify the voices of inspiring young climate activists. She will also play a leading role in C40's Women4Climate Initiative, celebrating the leadership being delivered by women around the world in climate action.
