Jennifer Lim is a native of Hong Kong who currently resides and works in New York City. She holds a Bachelor's degree from Bristol University in the United Kingdom, which she attended after graduating. Lim then pursued her Master of Fine Arts in Acting at the Yale School of Drama, graduating in 2004.
As a "half & half" individual, Lim is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin, and can also speak Korean to a certain extent. To expand her international exposure and qualify for a US Artist Green Card, which she has now received, Lim has taken numerous opportunities to work abroad over the past few years.
In London, Lim played the lead role in the Verity Bargate Award-winning play "This Isn't Romance," directed by Soho Theatre's former Artistic Director Lisa Goldman. She also received high praise for her portrayal of Ophelia in Shakespeare's "Hamlet," performed in Mandarin, at the Grotowski Theatre Festival in Wroclaw and in Shanghai.
Lim toured extensively in Europe with the Young Jean Lee Theater Co., performing at numerous theatres and festivals, including the Vienna Festival, the Hannover Theaterformen Festival, the Zurich Theaterspektakel Festival, the Hebbel Theater, the Kaaitheater, the International Arts Festival of Castilla y Leon, Theatre Garonne, Teaterhuset Avant Garden, the Black Box Teater, and the Teater Garasjen.
Back in the United States, Lim has worked in many professional and prominent downtown NYC and regional theaters. She has also helped develop new works at the Lark Play Development Center, New Georges, Pan Asian Rep, East Coast Artists, Mabou Mines, Reverie Productions, New Dramatists, Ensemble Studio Theater, Cherry Lane Theater, Second Generation, and Ma-Yi Theater Co.
In addition to her stage work, Lim has appeared on television shows such as "Blue Bloods," "Law & Order," "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," "Royal Pains," "Dirty Sexy Money," "Guiding Light," "As the World Turns," and "The Savages." She has also appeared in films such as "27 Dresses" and various shorts.
Lim is a member of the Actor's Equity Association (AEA),the Screen Actors Guild (SAG),and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA).
