Jenny Lorenzo is a Cuban-American actor, writer, and content creator born and raised in Miami, Florida, who has made a name for herself through her work on We Are Mitú and as one of the original co-founders of BuzzFeed's Pero Like.
This talented individual gained widespread recognition with her beloved Abuela character, which has garnered millions of views online and has been praised for its relatable and nostalgic portrayal of a 1st generation Cuban-American experience, often referred to as "living in the hyphen".
Jenny's impressive career has been marked by several notable achievements, including a nomination for "Best Content Creator for a Digital network" at the 2017 Tecla Awards and a win for "Best Character" for Abuela at the 2018 Tecla Awards.
In recent years, Lorenzo has continued to push boundaries and pursue new opportunities, including participating in the Women in Comedy program at YouTube Space LA in partnership with Elizabeth Banks and WhoHaHa. She was selected from a pool of 12 women for the program and was subsequently chosen to be personally mentored by Elizabeth Banks herself.
In addition to her digital endeavors, Jenny has also explored the world of live performance, recently wrapping up a sold-out run of her show "Wow! Que Show!" at Upright Citizen's Brigade. She plans to continue pursuing her passion for live performance in the years to come.
