As a member of ASCAP since 1941, Gottler's most notable musical collaborator was his father, with whom he co-created numerous popular songs. Some of his most famous compositions include "How's About It?", "He Took Her for a Sleigh Ride", "Yes, There Ain't No Moonlight, So What", "Bye Bye Mr. Dream Man", and "The Girl on the Isle of Man".
