Jes Macallan is a multifaceted artist with a career spanning over 130 episodes in various episodic series and films. Before her seven-season run on the Arrowverse dramedy superhero show DC's Legends of Tomorrow, she starred in ABC's hit drama series Mistresses, alongside Alyssa Milano.
Macallan also appeared in the pilot Crash and Burn, executive produced by Tony Hawk, and the digital film series Relationship Status, executive produced by Milo Ventimiglia and StyleHaul, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and received critical acclaim.
As an episodic director, she directed two ambitious episodes of DC's Legends of Tomorrow, adapting to the challenges of pandemic protocols in the filmmaking industry. Following her series wrap, she directed an episode of All Rise for OWN/Warner Bros Television Studios, set to air in 2022.
Early in her career, Macallan was drawn to directing and began shadowing veteran directors. In 2016, she wrote, produced, and directed her short film Self, E, which was accepted into several festivals, including the Dances with Films Festival at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood.
Macallan's passion for storytelling as a director and actor stems from her deep understanding of character exploration, gained through her performance background. Her extensive experience in television has also taught her the importance of communication, budget comprehension, and effective time management.
With her partner, Nic Bishop, she is adapting novels and procuring projects with colleagues and friends from the industry. Macallan's artistic journey began at age three, with classical dance training into her 20's. She studied with legends like Luigi, Mia Michaels, and Eddy Toussaint, and earned a degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida.
During her studies, she traveled to Europe, immersing herself in European culture and language, and modeled in Miami, New York, and Milan. She later studied acting in Los Angeles and relocated to New York City to attend the Maggie Flanigan Studio's Meisner intensive acting program.
