Jessica De Gouw is an accomplished Australian actress, recognized for her captivating performances in various television series and films. Her notable roles include Helena Bertinelli/The Huntress in the action-adventure series Arrow, Mina Murray in the NBC TV series Dracula, and Elizabeth Hawkes in the WGN series Underground.
Born and raised in Lesmurdie, an eastern suburb of Perth, Western Australia, Jessica attended Lesmurdie Senior High School. She began her acting career by appearing in an episode of The Sleepover Club and a short film. In 2010, at the age of 22, she graduated from Curtin University with a major in performance studies, and also appeared in another short film that same year.
Seeking to expand her acting opportunities, Jessica relocated to Sydney, where she landed guest starring roles in various TV series. In 2012, she made her film debut in Kath & Kimderella as Isabella, Kath and Kim's maid. Later that year, she moved to Los Angeles and secured the recurring role of Helena Bertinelli/The Huntress in the action-adventure series Arrow.
In 2013, Jessica was cast as Mina Murray in the NBC series Dracula, alongside Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Oliver Jackson-Cohen. Although the series only lasted 10 episodes, NBC announced in May 2014 that the show would not be renewed for another season. In 2016, Jessica was cast as fictional abolitionist Elizabeth Hawkes in the WGN series Underground. Her recent feature film credits include OtherLife, based on the novel Solitaire by Kelley Eskridge, in which she played the lead role of Ren Amari in 2017.
