Jim's life story began in Auburn, New York, where he first took to the stage at the tender age of five, marking the dawn of a lifelong fascination with the world of performing arts. As he progressed through the years, his family made a significant move to Raleigh, North Carolina, during his sophomore year of high school, affording him the unique privilege of attending the esteemed University of North Carolina, a prestigious institution that would undoubtedly play a significant role in shaping his future endeavors.
Following a concise yet significant period of professional experience in the state of Georgia, Jim made the decision to relocate back to his hometown of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where he began to nurture his artistic inclinations by venturing into the realm of video and television production.
Jim's pivotal moment of 1984 saw him make a courageous and far-reaching decision to uproot his life and relocate to the Peach State, where he embarked upon a remarkable and storied career as a radio personality in the metropolitan Atlanta region. For an impressive span of over a decade, he took the reins as the host of a highly popular morning wake-up show for a prominent and well-established metro-Atlanta radio station, captivating and enlightening listeners with his warm, engaging, and charismatic personality.
Jim has been an integral figure in the Atlanta theatre scene since 1985, playing a pivotal role as a board member of the Georgia Theatre Conference, and subsequently serving as the Senior Artistic Director for the Canton Theatre.
Jim's career trajectory took an unexpected turn in 2011, as he made a brief foray back into the world of radio hosting, this time landing an afternoon drive home show, concurrently with his work as a freelance writer and producer for two independent feature productions.
But fate had other plans, as a catastrophic tornado tore through five states on April 27th, 2011, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. Jim's life was forever altered as his home was ravaged, and he was left to pick up the pieces alongside his 80-year-old mother, who fortunately escaped with only minor injuries.
Jim remained steadfast in his pursuit of his passions, unwavering in the face of adversity, and in 2014, he took on a new challenge by becoming the host of "Nerdvana", a thought-provoking talk show that delved into the captivating realm of "Nerd" and "Geek" interests, alongside his co-host and partner in crime, the charismatic Jess Roberts.
Two years later, Jim's entrepreneurial spirit and love for all things nostalgic and thrilling led him to launch "Monster Attack", a podcast that celebrated the retro charm and spine-tingling thrills of old monster movies, which has since found a new home on the renowned Project Entertainment network, where it continues to entertain and captivate audiences to this day.
