Jim Hanon is a renowned and accomplished narrative and documentary filmmaker, whose extensive and diverse body of work has taken him to every continent on Earth, with the exception of Antarctica. Prior to embarking on his career as a filmmaker, Jim honed his skills in the realm of illustration, art directing, and advertising, ultimately rising to the position of Vice President at the esteemed Leo Burnett agency in Chicago. However, it was his desire to create a more community-driven and grassroots style of filmmaking that led him to transition away from the corporate world and establish his own Rhode Island-based artist film studio, Minus Red. As the writer and director of the Crystal Heart Award-winning theatrical release End of the Spear, as well as several international documentaries, Jim Hanon has proven himself to be a talented and innovative storyteller, capable of captivating audiences and conveying powerful messages through his work.
