Jim Michaels' career in television production spans over three decades, with a wide range of credits to his name.
He began his producing career on the NBC series Midnight Caller, starring Gary Cole, before moving on to become a co-producer on the acclaimed NBC series Reasonable Doubts, which starred Mark Harmon and Marlee Matlin.
Michaels then spent three seasons as a co-producer on the ABC series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, starring Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher.
He also produced the one-hour ABC detective drama Charlie Grace, starring Mark Harmon as a private detective raising a 12-year-old LeeLee Sobieski, as well as the two-hour cable movie Escape From Atlantis for Starz/Encore.
Michaels' subsequent projects included the CBS series Turks, starring William Devane, and the USA Network series Cover Me: Based on the True Life of an FBI Family.
He also produced the pilot for the CBS series The Guardian, as well as the Showtime series Odyssey 5 and the CBS series Dr. Vegas.
Michaels' work on the Golden Globe-nominated series Everybody Hates Chris, inspired by Chris Rock, set a record for the highest-rated comedy to air on the UPN/CW network.
After Everybody Hates Chris concluded its run, Michaels joined the producing team for Supernatural at the beginning of season 5, where he remained for the final season, number 15.
In addition to his work in television, Michaels has also produced a documentary, Remember the Sultana, with Sean Astin and Mark Marshall, which tells the story of the largest maritime disaster in American history.

Michaels has been a featured keynote speaker at various events across the United States, including the AFCI and several universities, including UCLA, Academy of Art University, and NYU.
He is a longtime member of the Producer's Guild of America (PGA),the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (Emmy's),Screen Actor's Guild (SAG-AFTRA),and the Director's Guild of America (DGA).
Throughout his career, Michaels has produced projects that have filmed in nine different US states and two Canadian provinces: Illinois, Hawaii, California, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Nevada, Oklahoma, Florida, and Utah, as well as Ontario and British Columbia.
