Biography

Joanna, a native New Yorker from The Bronx, has made a name for herself in the entertainment industry by portraying complex and multifaceted characters. She has a remarkable ability to convey both strength and vulnerability, often playing wives, mothers, and cougars who are fiercely loyal but also have hidden sensitivities.

Joanna's impressive career has been marked by numerous awards and accolades. She won the prestigious Bronze REMI Award for her lead role in the comedy TV pilot "GOOD 'n Screwed", playing against type as a naive and scattered "good wife" at the 51st Worldfest Houston International Film Festival. She has also won awards for Best Actress, Best Pilot, Best Screenwriting, and Best Ensemble at festivals in Rome, Cannes, London, Las Vegas, and New York City.

In addition to her film and television work, Joanna has also had a successful stage career. She is a graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and has studied 14th to 19th century English literature. She has also attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, where she focused on Shakespeare.

Joanna's extensive stage credits include Off-Broadway roles in "How Alfo Learned to Love" and "The Art of Thinking", as well as numerous productions of Shakespeare's plays, including "Measure for Measure", "Medea", "Much Ado About Nothing", and "Titus Andronicus".

In addition to her artistic pursuits, Joanna is a proud member of the Renegade Theatre Company and has created her own production company, BrainyBeauty Productions/aka Still Waters Productions, to advocate for and create female-driven content for women over 40 in film, television, and digital media.

Prior to returning to acting, Joanna had a successful career in the cosmetics industry, working for Estée Lauder and developing sales and training programs to launch new products. She has also won national sales awards and has a deep understanding of the importance of effective marketing and branding.
