John's illustrious career spans over 50 years, with a staggering 200+ stage, film, and television productions under his belt. His journey began with a professional acting role in the Hartford Stage Company's premier production of "Othello" at a young age. He then ventured into summer stock on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, starring in "Dark at the Top of the Stairs" and "The Gazebo".
Within a few years, John embarked on a European tour with the USA Festival Theater Tour, performing in Germany, Cambridge, London, and the prestigious Edinburgh Arts Festival in Scotland, starring in 15 different productions in repertory. His impressive resume continued to grow as a member of the Company of Angels in Los Angeles, California, where he received the Los Angeles Drama Critics Award for his performances in "A Flea in Her Ear" and "The Last Meeting of the Knights of the White Magnolia" at the Coronet Theater.
John's talent was soon recognized, and he won the award for his critically acclaimed performance as Lee in Sam Shepard's "True West" at the South Coast Repertory Theater in Costa Mesa, California, alongside Ed Harris.
In addition to his stage work, John branched out into television and motion pictures, starring in numerous hit television series, including "Kojak", "Columbo", "Police Story", "Police Squad", "Law and Order: SVU", and a recurring role as Willie Joe Garr in the hit series "Dallas". He also starred in the mini-series "A Death in California", "Love, Lies, and Murder", "The Tommyknockers", and the critically acclaimed "I Know My First Name is Steven".
