John Swider was born in the vibrant city of New Orleans, where his childhood was shaped by his mother, a ballet instructor, and his father, a federal agent. This diverse upbringing led to a nomadic lifestyle, with his family relocating to various parts of the country, including New Mexico, Mississippi, and finally, Puerto Rico.
In Puerto Rico, John began creating underwater videos with his brother, Joseph Swider, who is also a talented actor and psychiatrist. After serving as a combat medic in the US Army National Guard, John pursued a Master's degree in philosophy while simultaneously acting in student films.
He then relocated to Washington, DC, where he spent several years as a public speaker. A friend's suggestion to join the set of 'Syriana' led to an opportunity to work alongside Christopher Plummer, although his scene ultimately didn't make the final cut. This experience, however, reignited his passion for acting.
John returned to New Orleans, where he found a thriving film community that welcomed him with open arms. He went on to star in numerous independent films, including 'Girls Gone Gangsta' (2011) alongside John Goodman, 'Flesh Wounds' (2011) with Kevin Sorbo, and '2 Bedroom 1 Bath' (2014) featuring Eric Roberts and Dee Wallace.
Swider's acting career also extended to national commercials, with notable clients including Chevrolet and Isle of Capri. He has also lent his talents to public service announcements at NFL games and has served as a personality for charity events, such as 'Celebrity Vampire Baseball' (2010),which raised funds for Haitian Earthquake relief and Deepwater Oil Spill relief.
In recent years, John has appeared in the TV series 'Breakout Kings' (2011) and is set to star in the upcoming WGN series 'Salem' (2014) and feature films '1959' (2016) and 'Love Me True' (2015). He is represented by the Del Corral Model and Talent agency in New Orleans.
John's imposing physique, rugged appearance, and intelligent demeanor have become signature elements of his acting style, making him a sought-after talent in the entertainment industry.
