Johnny Martin's journey in the film and television industry began when he was just eighteen years old. He started his career as a stuntman and quickly rose through the ranks to become a stunt coordinator and second-unit director. Throughout his career, Johnny has worked on over 260 films, TV shows, and commercials, earning numerous accolades, including the award for Best Stunt Coordinator of the Year for the film "Gone in 60 Seconds", as well as two Emmy nominations and one Screen Actors Guild award.
In 2003, Johnny took the bold step of launching his own production company, MARTINI FILMS. In the first year alone, he produced three films under his banner, two of which received SYFY Channel's "Premiere of the Year" award. This marked the beginning of a successful partnership with China Film Group ("CFG"),with which Martini Films co-produced the feature film "Urban Games" in 2012. The film was entirely shot in China and Korea, making Martini Films one of the first US companies to partner with CFG.
Since then, Martini Films has produced 20 films for major studios such as Lionsgate, Sony, Paramount, and Saban. Johnny's directing debut came in 2014 with the horror film "Delirium", which won three film festivals and received a theatrical release. He was subsequently hired to direct "Vengeance: A Love Story", starring Nicholas Cage and Don Johnson, and then followed up with "Hangman", starring Al Pacino, Karl Urban, and Brittany Snow. Johnny is currently in post-production on his latest film, "Alone", starring Donald Sutherland and Tyler Posey.
Throughout his career, Johnny has credited the late great Tony Scott for his guidance and mentorship, which prepared him for his transition into directing. In 2018, Johnny was honored to be invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science, a testament to his dedication and passion for the film industry.
