Jon Reep, a talented actor and comedian, was born in Hickory, North Carolina, where he resided until his family relocated to Raleigh, NC in 1992. It was during his time at North Carolina State University that he discovered his passion for stand-up comedy, performing at Goodnights comedy club.
Jon's academic pursuits led him to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater, Mass Communication, and Public & Personal Communication from NCSU in 1997. Following his graduation, he landed a job at UNC-TV, where he worked as the assistant director for TV shows such as "North Carolina Now" and "Legislative Week in Review". Concurrently, he honed his stand-up comedy skills at night.
In 1998, Jon made the bold decision to leave UNC-TV and pursue comedy full-time. He embarked on a nationwide tour, performing in comedy clubs and colleges across America. His big break came in 2000 when he was invited to perform at the prestigious Montreal Just for Laughs festival. This opportunity led him to relocate to Los Angeles, CA, where he furthered his career as a stand-up comedian and actor.
As an actor, Jon has had notable roles in films and television shows, including "Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay" as the lovable pot-smoking farmer Raymus, and the dim-witted cop Gerald Bob on the ABC sitcom "Rodney". He has also appeared in Disney Channel's "Good Luck Charlie" as a goodwill worker and in Dodge Truck's popular ad campaign as the HEMI guy.
Jon's impressive comedy career has earned him numerous accolades, including winning NBC's "Last Comic Standing" season 5. He has appeared on various comedy shows, including Comedy Central's "Premium Blend", "Comedy Central Presents: Jon Reep", and his own special "Jon Reep: Metro Jethro". He has also been featured on TBS's "Pit Stop Comedy", NBC's "Late Friday", and CMT's "Comedy Club" and "Comedy Stage".
Jon currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife and two dogs, where he continues to entertain audiences with his unique blend of humor and wit.
