Jonathan Alderman, a native of Metro Detroit, grew up with a strong focus on sports, never exploring the world of theater. Following his high school graduation, he landed an internship with Turner Construction, seemingly setting him on a career path. However, fate had other plans.
After completing his internship, Jonathan found himself at a crossroads, searching for new opportunities. One such avenue presented itself in the form of the Michigan Renaissance Festival, where he attended an open audition and landed a role as a peasant and RockFarmer extraordinaire, Flint Stone. This marked the beginning of his improv training through street theater and dialect training.
The following season, Jonathan was named Rookie of the Year at the Michigan Renaissance Festival. During this time, the movie "All's Faire In Love" (originally titled "Ye Olde Times") was set to be filmed on the festival's grounds in Holly, Michigan. The resident cast, including Jonathan, were photographed for the opportunity to be cast as extras. Some cast members were called back to read for specific parts, and Jonathan was one of them.
Initially asked to read for the part of Jamon, he was later asked to read for Guard 1 and Guard 2 due to his lack of formal training. However, upon meeting Director Scott Marshall, Jonathan was asked why he wasn't reading for any of the football players. Marshall had him read the part of Cotton, and he secured the role on the spot.
During the filming of the football scenes for "All's Faire In Love", Jonathan met Brad Lyon, who later cast him in his movie "Minor League: A Football Story" in the supporting role of Tony Houser. With his future looking bright, Jonathan's journey as an actor has only just begun.
