Person Biography:
Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, this individual's journey in the film industry began in his teenage years when his family relocated to Israel. He pursued his passion for acting, auditioning for various schools in England and eventually graduating from the prestigious Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London, England.
As a writer-director-producer, he has made a significant impact in the industry, with his feature film "Lipstikka" (2011) being presented in competition at the Berlin International Film Festival, Jerusalem International Film Festival, and Toronto International Film Festival, among others. The film won numerous awards, including two Best Actress awards at the Jerusalem International Film Festival.
His feature film "Urban Feel" (1999) also gained international recognition, being presented in competition at the Berlin International Film Festival and winning several national and international awards. Additionally, his first feature film "Drifting" (1983) was a critical and commercial success, winning various Israeli National Awards.
As a multi-talented individual, he has also written and directed two independent shorts, "Zerach Lipshitz' Last Little Vacation" and "At Home" (Babait),which were presented at national and international film festivals. He has also written and directed three stage plays, including "Lea Goes Out On The Street", "Cockroach", and "Easy Fixes to a Shitty Life".
Furthermore, he has published a series of short stories, "The Lonely Life of Hugo Asparagus", in the Israeli press and was a regular staff writer on the Israeli-Palestinian production of "Sesame Street". His extensive film and TV acting credits include notable roles in "Lemon Popsicle" (Eis Am Stiel),"Drifting" (Nagua),"Schindler's List", "Urban Feel", and "Hamakom".
