Jonathan Sarno, a distinguished individual, holds a Bachelor's degree in Art History and English from the University of Pennsylvania. Following his undergraduate studies, he pursued post-graduate training in playwriting and directing at the esteemed Yale School of Drama, where he had the privilege of learning from renowned directors such as Arthur Penn, George Roy Hill, Elia Kazan, Roberto Rossellini, and the celebrated novelist Jerzy Kozinski.
Sarno's academic journey continued with a focus on film directing at New York University, further honing his skills in the craft.
He launched his professional career in filmmaking with the documentary short "The Green Felt Big Top," which garnered recognition at the prestigious Lincoln Center Film Festival.
Subsequently, he co-founded CNI Cinema, a production company that brought to life "The Kirlian Witness," a psychological thriller that received worldwide distribution after being acquired by Paramount Pictures.
Sarno's subsequent theatrical feature, "Ramona," a romantic comedy, was acquired by Curb Communications and won numerous awards at international film festivals.
In addition to his work behind the camera, Jonathan Sarno has written numerous screenplays, including "Mesmer," a notable collaboration with the late Dennis Potter, directed by Roger Spottiswoode, and starring Alan Richman.
Currently, Sarno serves as the North American representative of the Cartagena International Film Festival in Cartagena, Colombia, South America, an esteemed event directed by the Nobel Prize-winning author Gabriel García Márquez.
