Joseph Steven, a talented character actor, has had the privilege of working under the direction of renowned film and television directors such as Gore Verbinski, J.J. Abrams, Eric Idle, Iain Softley, Jim Chory, Matt Piedmont, and Joe Pytka, among others.
Throughout his career, Joseph's unique look and skillset have led to a wide range of character roles, including Romulan, priest, rabbi, rancher, detective, perp, butler, stalker, period fathers, Frenchman, and German film director, to name a few.
Some of his notable film credits include The Gambler alongside Jessica Lange, Star Trek with Eric Bana, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest in motion-capture, and K-PAX with Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges. On television, he has appeared in Wanda at Large with Wanda Sykes and The District opposite Ernest Borgnine.
Joseph has also made a name for himself in the festival circuit, with credits including the Cannes short From the Outside Looking In, the award-winning La Première with James Earl Jones, and The Last Days of Toussaint L'Ouverture, in which he played a Frenchman. Other notable festival pieces include Memoirs at the LA Shorts Festival 2013 and several others.
Born in Chicago, Joseph's training includes the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Columbia College for film, and Monkey Butler Comedy Improv, among others. He has received a filmmaker's Merit Award from the Chicago International Film Festival.
