Juan Pablo Rebella was born in September 1962 in Rosario, Argentina. He holds a Master of Arts in Image Synthesis and Computer Animation from Middlesex University in the United Kingdom, which he earned in 1993.
As a film director, Rebella has worked on eight feature films, including the highly successful "El Ratón Pérez" (2006),which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and the Tribeca Film Festival, and won several awards, including the Goya Award in 2007. He also directed "The Games Maker" (2014),a co-production between Canada, Italy, and Argentina, which was selected at 16 top film festivals and won several awards, including the Jury's Award at the Stockholm Film Festival and the Best Film at the Barne Festival in Norway.
Rebella's other notable works include "Tini, el gran cambio de Violetta" (2015),a European film produced by The Walt Disney Company, and "El grito de las mariposas" (2023),a fictional TV show based on the life of the Mirabal sisters under the Trujillo dictatorship, which will be released worldwide by Star+ in March 2023.
As the founder and partner of Pampa Films, a leading film and TV production company based in Buenos Aires, Rebella has produced 18 movies, most of which have been internationally distributed due to their artistic and technical quality. Some of his notable productions include "La Señal" (2007),"La leyenda" (2008),"Un cuento chino" (2011),"Peter Capusotto 3D" (2012),"Francisco, el padre Jorge" (2015),"Koblic" (2016),"Nieve Negra" (2017),"Joel" (2017),"No dormirás" (2018),"La gallina turuleca" (2019),and "Un crimen argentino" (2022).
In addition to his film work, Rebella has also developed and produced "Monzon", a 13-episode TV show that has received top reviews and massive audience attention since its release in Latin America by Turner in June 2019.
